NEW - Fully Automated, Process-reliable, Integrated Processing Concept for Steel Sections and Plate |
Kaltenbach will be launching major new products and processes at the IPS Fair 2009 (International Partners-in-Steel), May 11-15th 2009 at their headquarters in Lörrach, southern Germany. More than 30 Partner Companies will also be involved in IPS 2009 to discuss and demonstrate their products to visitors from more than 35 countries
With Automation: ‘If Steel is Your Deal’ as the main theme of IPS 2009, visitors can witness some significant new Kaltenbach product introductions to further improve process and overall production efficiencies.
NEW PRODUCTS WILL INCLUDE:
NEW - Fully Automated, Process-reliable, Integrated Processing Concept
for Steel Sections and Plate
Kaltenbach core strength is the consultation and supply of technology to achieve complete engineered solutions for the processing of steel. Customer feedback has shown that as well as specific process efficiencies, maximising logistics performance and the overall flow and control of materials and data, have a key influence on plant economics. For the first time, Kaltenbach will be demonstrating at IPS 2009 a process-reliable, fully integrated automation concept for the complete processing of structural steel and plate from raw material input, to final plant output, including the automatic cutting and sorting of end cuts for example, as part of an uninterrupted, continuous plant process.
Huge economic benefits are predicted for this concept, with early customer installations showing some 30% improvement in plant utilisation and productivity.
NEW - MSK 471 NA: High-performance, circular blade saw for the straight cutting of hard metals.
Introduced for the first time at IPS 2009, the MSK 471 NA is an ultra-fast, high-performance straight sawing machine for cutting hard, difficult to cut metals, including stainless steel. Key features include, the processing of minimal cut-off lengths, short cycle times and an extremely flexible, fully automated section-sorting feature.
NEW - KBS1010/KDXS 1015 sawing/drilling system with AS 1000 auto-sorter.
This fully automated band sawing and drilling system is a new introduction for IPS2009, incorporating the completely new AS1000 auto-sorter for the automatic sorting of usable parts, first cuts and remnants. In addition, high-speed contour marking and the use of solid-carbide drill bits add to the machines overall high-performance efficiency.
NEW - ‘silenced’ T13 transport system.
The established Kaltenbach T13 cross transfer system for the movement of structural steel has a completely new innovation to be launched at IPS2009. Through the introduction of new technology, the typical noise pollution from ‘steel on steel’ transporting of steel sections can now be reduced from ear-splitting levels to almost a whisper.
NEW - Visualisation Software.
Within automation technology line processes the visualisation and monitoring of production processes plays a crucial role. Kaltenbach’s new software, to be demonstrated at IPS2009, provides sophisticated evaluation of process cycles within steel fabrication and enables operators to monitor work piece position within the overall line process.
NEW - KPS 520: ‘world’s fastest’ plate and angle, punching and shearing machine.
The all new, KPS 520 is claimed the world’s fasted strip-fed plate punching and shearing system of its type. An outstanding feature, apart from its incredibly fast operating speed, is a large tool magazine. The punching and shearing capacity extends up to 500mm wide plate x 25mm thick and up to 200 x 200 x 16mm for angle sections. Optional drilling, plasma cutting and marking functions are also available.
NEW - ‘Skywalk’ in the new Kaltenbach Technology Centre.
Visitors will have the opportunity to visit the newly opened and designed Kaltenbach Technology Centre to observe the world of steel processing from an almost bird's-eye ‘skywalk’ viewpoint.
