Business is booming, “Greatly helped” says Neil McDonald the Managing Director of Eblast. “By our superb Gietart shotblasting system”.

Installed by Kaltenbach in the summer of 2002 the Gietart CM1500-815 is one of a range of Gietart machines designed specially for processing large fabricated constructions using a Gietart ‘3D blasting’ technique. This machine, which was modified slightly to suit EBlast specific needs, has a 1800mm wide x1500mm high material processing capacity. Fitted with 8 high-capacity turbines, they are arranged diagonally in the direction of material flow to guarantee smooth, complete ‘3D’ blast coverage. Gietart machines are recognised as world leaders and apart from the essential of shotblast efficiency, a critical design and build consideration has to be the wear and tear of the machine itself. Gietart shotblasters are lined with 8mm thick wear-resist manganese steel, with additional ultra-high resist, 10mm thick removable strips, bolted onto the lining and opposite the blast area of the turbines for maximum protection.

“Our experience with steel preparation and shotblasting in particular” says Neil McDonald. “Makes us very aware that not all shotblasters work as well as our Gietart machine. We’re very happy with it”.
